The purpose of this site is to introduce and share some of the major European graphic artistic movements at the turn of the century. These include French Belle Epoque, German Jugendstil/Art Nouveau, and Austrian Secession. The graphic art of these movements utilized mainly the techniques of lithography, etching and woodcuts. The works illustrated here are excellent examples of prints from these eras.

This site will also discuss a lesser known important artistic movement in America – the creation of color woodcuts, particularly by women artists.

The prints illustrated here are from my collection and many have been loaned to museum and gallery exhibitions over the years.

Additional relevant articles and illustrations will be added periodically, and we welcome any inquiries or comments the reader might have.
